Random Thursday--My Christmas Wishlist!

Happy Thursday y'all! Today I'm linking up with these lovely ladies for Random Thursday (and it's been awhile since my last link up) so I hope you enjoy! I really had to think hard about these cause I really don't know what I want...everyone always asks me and I never know what to say. I always just say CASH and end up spending it on clothes!

1. Dexter: Season 2-6
I am OBSESSED with Dexter! I've seen everything up until the current season, and I have no idea what has happened since Deb....ya know...

Dexter: The Sixth Season

2. THIS Funnel Neck Coat from Long Tall Sally
Is it too much for me to ask to not have cold wrists in the middle of winter? I know Texas doesn't get THAT cold, but the sleeves on all of my jackets are too short. like I have 2-3 inches of bare wrist showing with my coat on. Seriously.

3. Clothes
I can always use a new pair of jeans, and I will practically wear anything that comes from Target.  Can I also group scarves in this category? Okay good.
4. Pride & Prejudice
I want the book & the movie!

5. Lost: Seasons 1-6
Needs no explanation. Love this show!
6. a Kindle or Nook.
This one I'm not so sure about. Though I've had quite a bit of spare time on my hands at work lately, and books get annoyingly heavy to carry around. Like right now I'm reading 11/22/63 which is Stephen King's fictional novel about JFK's assassination. It's really good but that sucker is HUGE and too heavy for me to haul around every day. I don't even know the pros and cons about each...guess I need to do some digging!

7. Halcyon by Ellie Goulding

8. Movies!
There are so many movies out there that I want to own but I don't yet. I did at one point have an extensive list on my cell phone but when I updated to iOS 4 (this was like a year ago obviously) everything on my phone was deleted. So here's a more recent list that I just made up, in no special order:
Finding Nemo
The Ugly Truth
Harry Potter (all of them)
The Hunger Games
Water for Elephants
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
X-Men (all of them)
Batman (all of them)
The Avengers
The Expendables (1&2)
The Boondock Saints (1&2)
Toy Story (all 3)
Silence of the Lambs
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
There are plenty of others, but for now I can only think of these....dang.
9. True Blood: Seasons 2-5
I've kinda been way behind since Season 3 or 4 (I really don't remember) and we don't get HBO.
That's about it for now. Merry Christmas Y'all!
I am super excited for him, and I'm so happy that I get to see my parents!

Oh, and this is my 300th post! HOLLA FO' A DOLLA HONEY BOO BOO!

Happy Monday, friends! Hope you had as awesome of a weekend as I did!

Friday I did absolutely nothing other than laundry and go to work from 5-9. Andrew brought me dinner, and we had an incident at the assisted living home involving paint and an ambulance. It was kind of exciting :) later I went home, watched some TV, got ready to get in the shower and my friend Chelsea (she turned 21 Saturday) texted me and said she was out at Applebee's. So I joined the group for about an hour--old lady over here can't stay up that late. I finally crawled into bed around 2:30.

Saturday my plan was to get going to do some shopping, and that didn't quite work out the way I had planned. Chelsea and I were supposed to go party shopping, but my friend Blake (whose birthday was also Saturday--he's 24!) texted me about doing lunch. So I pushed back my plans with Chelsea and we went to Olive Garden. I bought Blake's lunch--and everything was super delicious!

Birthday Boy! I highly recommend the Toasted Marshmallow martini---it was AMAZING!

After lunch Chelsea and I met up to do our shopping. I ended up buying a dress from Plato's Closet (cheetah print--RAWR!) and some stuff from the mall. Most of it was for Saturday night, I haven't been out partying in 2-3 years and I wanted to look gooooood. And I did! I found a gorgeous sequin dress and I also got some skinny jeans to go with my new boots (early Christmas gift!) because even though they aren't long enough, nobody will ever know! And I got a little more Christmas shopping done. Sneaky!

Sequin dress--Love it!
Even though this dress is super sparkly, I absolutely love the back! It dips low in the back, but you can still wear a bra without it showing. Best thing EVER.

Purple skinnies!

Sexy shoes--the ones I bought don't look exactly like this, more strappy and still with a bow!

Sexy leather boots ;)
After all of our shopping, it was time for me to go home and get ready for a night on the town! It took me just over an hour to do my hair, and about 20 minutes for makeup. I hate that the picture is so dark, but I don't have a flash on my iPhone :(

Shoes + sexy dress = I look good! And I felt skinnier than usual!
Dress: JCPenney's
Shoes: The Shoe Depot
I had such a great time! Chelsea's party was at her house, so I went by after clubbing it up with Blake. Andrew actually went with me to Chelsea's, which is something he NEVER does. Perhaps it was the fact that he couldn't keep his hands off me! Haha!

All I did on Sunday was lay around the house and do more laundry. Andrew & I went out for lunch and just happened to run into his brother, Austin, and a friend of theirs/youth pastor guy (his name is Chris Raif, Raif for short) and I thoroughly enjoyed lunch. Oh, and I did cook dinner! So there was some productivity! Also, the weather in Texas is finally getting cool! The Dallas area even had snow--but it didn't stick. So I was able to show off all my new goodies today :)

Sweater: Old Navy
Jeans: JCPenney's
Boots: Zappos
Belt: Dillard's
Scarf: Wet Seal

Sorry for the darkness of this photo! I feel like the belt in this outfit looks dumb however without it the sweater is a shapeless blob. And it's kinda crappy too, it snags on EVERYTHING and fuzzy pieces rub off all over the place. Not so happy about that.

How was your weekend?? Get any good shopping done?

I Wish Decisions Were Easy

The past few weeks have been more difficult than normal. My budget is really tight these days--with student loans to pay and Christmas & birthdays coming up in a few weeks. Last Friday I had a Starbucks date with two of my friends, and they were telling me everything that has happened since my job with FOCUS was terminated (NO I wasn't fired...) with the coordinators and other mentors. It made me realize how much I miss working with college students, and there are potentially 2 job openings in the near future that would allow me to work with college students.

The big problem is, what about grad school? I'm 90% finished with my last Occupational Therapy application, and I've decided that if I don't get in this time then it's not meant to be for right now. What about the program here at A&M for Health Administration? I love my job at the assisted living home, and getting my MHA would seem appropriate. Plus, Andrew will be here for 2+ years getting his Master's degree too.

So, do I try for a full time position to shove myself into "adulthood" faster and work my life away? And I know that if I do get a full time job I would be much less likely to go back to grad school later. Or do I keep attempting to further my education for the potential to do better in whatever field I go into?

Ugh. Sometimes I hate life. And making hard decisions. How do you make these big life decisions? Help!

Holy balls. I seriously cannot believe that it has been nearly 3 weeks since my last post. My bad! Things have been crazy. Why?

1. My work schedule is irregular due to the upcoming Christmas break (other than me & my 2 bosses, all my coworkers are students)

2. I thought I cracked a tooth! Turns out it was just a filling, and I'm getting it fixed on Thursday

3. A few days before Thanksgiving I went to get a haircut. I needed it BAD. The place I went to jacked up my bangs and so I didn't let her touch the rest of my hair. I called a salon and managed to squeeze in an appointment before that Thursday. My bangs are barely an inch long, they don't even touch my eyebrows. Freaking weird.

4. Andrew's parents were in town this weekend because Austin was performing in Songfest--fraternities & sororities put on a show to raise money for their respective philanthropies. It was awesome!

5. I've been trying to get to the gym on a more regular schedule, and this week I started off right with Zumba!

6. I'm at work an hour early cause my boss called me in. I felt like a chicken with its head cut off rushing around after leaving the gym. It was crazy.

7. Andrew is graduating in 11 days. Damn. I am so proud of him!

8. I'm going home in 16 days for Christmas! Yay :)

I've been better at taking photos and posting them to Instagram (you can follow me: tall_natalie) so enjoy!

Happy belated Turkey Day!

Ruthie & Gracie got their Christmas treats early!
The weenies & I got to enjoy a nap last Friday and it was heavenly!

"stray" kitty that's always hanging around the house

Photo: even though it's blurry, I'm so happy that I got to see this sweet girl this weekend! love you! #songfest2012 @audaud8
I was so happy to see Audrey at Songfest! The sorority she joined is in charge of Songfest every year. She is such a sweet girl and I wish I could spend more time with her--next semester it will happen!

Happy Monday lovelies!

I'm Crazy Like This

Perfect! A way to teach everyone how to spell properly! I'm definitely a spelling psycho, and when I came across this I had a huge smile on my face :) enjoy!

Happy Monday, readers! Ugh, Monday. What did I do all weekend?

~ I studied for the GRE all day dang weekend

~ I worked Saturday afternoon

~ Andrew, his brother Austin, and I went out for dinner Saturday night

~ I got a massage Sunday afternoon (thanks to my 2nd mommy!)

~ I spent Saturday night with my friend Chelsea (the bumblebee from Halloween) and stayed up way too late. College life is hard for girls ;-)

~ I got caught up on The Walking Dead...did I mention this is the first season I've actually watched? Yeah, I'm kinda lost with Merle and all that stuff....but I cried at last night's episode (WHO DIDN'T?!)

~ I'm 3 or 4 episodes behind on Once Upon A Time & Revenge. Why? Because Suddenlink can't seem to get their crap together and every single time those shows come on the TV channel/display freezes and by the time it unfreezes the episode is nearly over. So I gave up. Hulu here I come!

~ Studied some more for the GRE. I'm taking it tomorrow. Yikes.

Pretty boring/relaxing weekend, though I'm not ready for tomorrow. And this week will be hectic so I may be MIA from my blog for the next week or two (even though I don't quite blog regularly anyways...) but I promise I will come back with photos! This weekend is the Warrior Dash and I'm definitely not ready. We'll see what happens.

Wish me luck or send me thoughts/prayers at 8:30am tomorrow!

Put The Brakes On

So after this insane weekend, I wish I could put the brakes on my life and slow things down. I just need to catch up on a million and one things but life never works the way you want it to! Remember my "to-do" list from my last post? Well, here's what really happened.

My sister didn't arrive until after I was at work on Friday night. So we didn't get to spend much time together. Sad face.

Totally went to Wicked Woods and it was awesome :) the majority of it had cheap shots, ya know, people jumping out at you, but I loved every thrill. Andrew wasn't ever scared, he enjoyed laughing at me and Megan.

Missed getting a pedicure and going to Wienerfest, but that was no big deal.

The wedding shower. OMG. I had a great time, but things weren't so great. I didn't know the bride or groom, and I didn't know it would be ALL of the parents and their friends. The invite said semi-casual (college kid, that means JEANS) but everyone was dressed to the nines. There were only six of us in our twenties, everyone else was 50s+ and that was no fun. But all in all, I had a great time.

Maria's party was DA BOMB dot com and even Andrew enjoyed himself. We were there for about an hour and a half, and I had some vodka shots and jello shots which were really good!

Me and Chelsea. Love her!

Cowboy and Indian! Aren't we cute?!
Our full costumes. Andrew just had to make a comment about my costume making me look nipply..ugh. Those are stitches in the fabric!
Sunday morning came way too early for the airshow (Andrew picked me up at 7:30am) but we had a great time! We both managed to get sunburned, but the weather was fabulous! Unfortunately though it was just the two of us going. Afterwards, we stopped at his house and had a nice dinner with his parents and one of his best friends. It was awesome!

Ain't he handsome? :)
Cool airplanes! The Blue Angels performed around 4:00pm  and it was great!

We didn't get home until nearly 9pm, so I missed Once Upon A Time, Revenge, and The Walking Dead. So I'm 2 weeks behind with ABC and I'll catch up on TWD later today..or whenever they replay it. Womp womp. Next week I have to take the GRE and I'm definitely getting nervous. But since I work at the testing center, maybe it won't be so bad. We'll see. Oh, and all of these photos came from my phone because my camera died and I haven't bothered to charge it or take the photos off and put them on my computer. Oops.

Happy Tuesday Homies :)

Never Too Busy For You!

So yesterday things were crazy at work and I never actually got to sit down to tell all of you about my upcoming weekend!! Things are seriously about to get crazy. I never thought that my life would be this busy after college; I expected to be able to chill out on weekends and get caught up on my dirty laundry. And I'm only working 2 jobs. Yeah riiiiiiiiiiiiight.

So what's going on this weekend?

- My sister is coming to visit Friday afternoon! Hooray :) we are planning to do some shopping, and spend some time with the grandparents while they are in town from Florida/North Carolina.

- I have to work my usual Friday night schedule (5-9pm) and my sister is upset that I can't call in sick. Such is life!

- I want to go to Wicked Woods this year. It's put on by Kappa Sigma every year (it's their philanthropy) and everyone says its freaky scary!! So perhaps Megan and Andrew will be up for that when I get off work!

- Saturday is Wienerfest 2012 in town! They have a 5K, weenie races, wannabe weenie races, a costume contest, and much more. I'll be babysitting the two weenies so perhaps we will make an appearance!

- Megan wants to get a pedicure while she's in town. The only nail place in Huntsville does a SHITTY job every time.

- Andrew and I have a wedding shower to attend for one of his classmates/coworkers. Which means leaving town by like 2pm on Saturday.

- Halloween party hosted by Maria starts Saturday night! So excited :)

- Sunday morning Andrew, his friend Alan, his boss John, and I are going to Houston for the 2012 Wings Over Houston Airshow. The Blue Angels will be there (and Fat Albert too!). But they want to get there super early, so I'll be sleeping in the car on the 1.5 hour drive there.

- Steve and a friend will also be at the airshow, and I can't wait to tag up with them!

- When we get back from Houston I need to do laundry. I'm almost out of clean underwear....

Sound busy enough for you? I thought so too. Will I survive and be exhausted come Monday  morning? Absolutely! Though I can't wait for all of it to happen...I gotta make sure to charge my camera battery!

So I Got Lazy...

....and spent $50 on my Halloween costume (which really isn't THAT much...or maybe it is...?)

I may or may not have told you that Andrew and I have a Halloween party to go to this weekend...but I don't think I did. So, I got invited by a coworker (she's throwing the party) and immediately started trying to plan costume ideas for me and my man. It was impossible. Fo realz, they don't make costumes to fit either one of us. So I decided that I would need to MAKE costumes, which doesn't have to be terribly difficult.

I ran at least 10 ideas by Andrew that were relatively easy to do and affordable. And each one he turned down. He suggested that we go as Batman & Catwoman. Okay, but where am I gonna find a DIY costume for that?! And then I saw my sister, who had the perfect idea. Now, I'm not going to tell you what it is because I want to surprise all of you! Anyways, Andrew wasn't very keen on this costume idea but it seemed easy enough for both of us to pull this one off.

And then I went to Hobby Lobby and Goodwill. And I struck out. Couldn't find anything that I needed for my costume. What a bust. So this weekend (yesterday as a matter of fact) I broke down and bought a costume from one of the Halloween stores in town. It actually saved me money! Mind you, I had to buy a plus size costume so that it would be long enough to cover everything, so I felt very self conscious. But I don't really care now because I'm gonna look UHH-mazing on Saturday night. Andrew will look good too ;)

So, be on the lookout for fabulous Halloween photos next week!

Also, did I mention this weekend is going to be nuts? More on that tomorrow! Happy Monday!!

Random Thursday

Holy balls, I'm actually feeling okay today. IT'S A MIRACLE! Just kidding, it's the antibiotics working their magic! Though I do feel extra fat since I haven't been to the gym in almost two weeks, but I really don't care right now. Make sense? Good. Today I'm linking up for my first-ever Random Thursday!

and the topic is......

So, without more procrastination, here are my favorite fall things. Though I should remind you, Texas doesn't really have a "fall" season. It's hot as hell for months, then it gets kinda cold. Not very fall-y if you ask me.

Halloween. 'nuff said.
I love little kids in their costumes, and one of my favorite candies is candy corn, or just the candy pumpkins. Buy me a bag of those and I'll be your best friend.
Me and my sister, Megan, as Minnie Mouse and a cowgirl. I don't even know how old this photo is, maybe 1995?

Hot Chocolate & Spiced Cider. Yum!
(no I'm not one of those people who loves their Starbucks..I don't like coffee even though I love the smell)

Pumpkin Carving
I love carving pumpkins, but I think it's weird to eat the seeds, regardless of their toasted-ness
Colors changing
Simply gorgeous!

Cinnamon and apple scented candles. Absolutely delicious.

Gravy and Cranberry Sauce on and after Thanksgiving

Fright Fest at Six Flags
I haven't been in at least 10 years and I was a little kid when my parents took me. I don't remember much about it but that it was scary and I loved it!

Pumpkin bread, cupcakes, pie, lattes, the list is never-ending!

Only 13 days until HALLOWEEN!
