Work, Work, Work

Seems like that's all I'm doing these days. Mind you I'm glad to be working, I just rarely have time for anything else. For Memorial Day weekend I went home and spent most of the time on the couch. That was fabulous. There was a recall on my car, so it's in the process of getting fixed. Andrew has been working about 50 hours a week with his satellite stuff but we are both lucky that the buildings we work in are adjacent to each other, so lunchtime is our time together (with all of Andrew's coworkers too).

Since Mary moved to CS, we've been spending more time together and she now has a gym membership which means I'm going to the gym! Last week we took a kickboxing class and centergy (which is their mix of yoga, core workout, and pilates) and it was rough! Tonight we are going to a Zumba class!

Last night I got lucky and managed to see Andrew and his roommate Alan cause I cooked dinner for the three of us. And I will be posting the recipe (and maybe a picture) this week! Yum!!

1,400 Miles Later

Happy Tuesday friends! I know it's been awhile since my last post, and this one is going to be brief! I am really worn out from the almost 1400 miles that I traveled this weekend. I drove home Thursday night and Friday morning my mom, Megan and I got up bright and early and made the long trek to Lubbock. My cousin graduated from TTUHSC School of Medicine, and I am so proud of her and her huge accomplishment! Most of the family was there, but it was definitely exhausting to have back to back graduations.

I don't think I'll ever go back to Lubbock again (unless it's for OT school!)...

On our way back on Sunday, we got really lucky because there was a Long Tall Sally Pop-Up Shop in the Dallas area! They make clothes for the tall woman (5'8" and above) and I
am definitely may be obsessed. Anyways, I didn't find anything (but I did back in March!) but Megan found a super cute maxi-dress that touches the floor when she wears it. So awesome! Additionally, we took a picture with some of the fabulous gals who work for LTS. Check it out!

Megan gave an appropriate title for this pic, "Ohhh you know.....just looking normal for once!" So true :)
So how was your weekend? I hope you didn't travel as much as I did!

I Did It!

The last few days have molded together into one giant blob. But the most exciting news is that I officially graduated from Texas A&M on Saturday and celebrated my 23rd birthday on Sunday!

Thursday evening at 10pm grades were officially available for graduating students to see. And I made a 4.0! I finally achieved a long term goal that I set for myself during my freshman year and I couldn't be happier! Also on Thursday night I had a party, and while almost 40 people had RSVP-ed, only 10-12 actually showed up. So I have a ton of beer and about 100 jello shots leftover, and I still don't know what exactly to do with them.

Friday was an extremely long day, I got my nails done and ran other errands that needed to be done before my parents arrived. Dad came in early in the afternoon, and we went to BJ's Brewhouse for dinner and a little bit of birthday celebration. My mom arrived a few hours after dinner, and by that time I was already exhausted. I made a quick trip to see her and help her get things situated before Saturday morning.

Saturday was nuts. I woke up, fixed my hair, got myself pulled together, and headed to see family and eat lunch at the house my mom had rented for the weekend. Lunch was rushed, and of course my family was running late so I had to leave without them. I felt so anxious waiting downstairs while I saw several of my friends and we all chatted until it was time to walk out into the arena and get ready to graduate! I don't remember much of the ceremony because it all happened so fast, and I barely remember walking across the stage, but I definitely remember hearing my family scream at the top of their lungs for me! Afterwards, everyone went back to the rent house for dinner, cake, and opening gifts! All of my family left either Saturday night or Sunday after lunch. I was definitely bummed that everyone had to leave and that my birthday was overlooked by graduation. But it was still a good weekend. Sunday night a few of my friends & Mary took me out to Olive Garden for a birthday dinner and I had a great time. Since then, I've been working at Hotard full-time and it's been very quiet!

Now for the pictures!!

Immediately after receiving my diploma! Most of the pictures of me walking across the stage are extremely blurry, and I think this is the best one!

Andrew & I immediately after graduating. Such a good picture of us!
A few of my cousins! Lindsey, my sister Megan, Ross, me, and Elizabeth
Pretty much the best looking family around :)

Exaggerated sorority pose!

My family! We were missing about 12-15 family members :(

So thrilled that the Tuckers' could make it for my graduation (minus Alissa)
My 2nd mom (Mary) & her hubby, Richard. So thankful that they could make it for my graduation!
This is one of my best friends, Libby. We have known each other for about 20 years. Even though we don't keep up with each other as much as we should, we never miss a beat! I think this picture describes our relationship perfectly!

And congrats to all the other graduates :) I'm so proud of everyone for making it this far!

A Chicken with it's Head Cut Off

Yep, that's pretty much how I'm feeling right now. Things have been crazy busy, and they won't be slowing down anytime soon. Just what exactly have I been up to since last Tuesday?

A fabulous dinner with Besty at Newk's (I need more of their cups!)...
French toast creme brulee dessert with Mary & Richard at Cafe Eccell, delicious....
A quick visit from Megan on Wednesday, there was shopping involved...
Touring the house that Mary & Richard just bought, its so cute....
Working like a crazy woman, but not really....
Hardly seeing Andrew at all with finals and end of year projects...
Delicious food at Atami & Cracker Barrel...
Pre-party shopping for Thursday and graduation...
Crashing at Mary's new house for a night with Megan & Amanda....
Making delicious food & drink for the party....
Picking up my Ring Dance t-shirt (looks so much better than last year's shirt)...
Going to the MSC Bookstore to pick up my cap & gown....

That's about it. Graduation is in FOUR days (birthday in FIVE). Needless to say, I've been extremely busy and thankfully I'm not stressing out too much...yet. We'll see how things are on Thursday....

Happy May Day

Yep, the best month of the whole year is finally here! As of today, graduation is in 11 days & my birthday is in 12 days. Whoa. But I'm still not feeling the whole excitement or nervousness, though I'm sure it will hit very soon.

But this month isn't just about me, lots of amazing people were born this month too :) on top of that, one of my cousins is graduating from medical school. Huge accomplishment for her! And of course we can't forget cinco de mayo. Last but certainly not least comes wedding season! Erik & Shala have been married almost a year now, and Andrew's cousin is getting married Memorial Day weekend.

Lots of exciting happenings going on! I think I'm most excited about my party that I'm throwing next week. (did I not send you an invitation? let me know and you will be invited immediately!)

**update**
I just read through my post and realized it sounded rather boring and that I have really disorganized thoughts haha. Sorry to my readers. Guess it's just one of those days....
