Shortest Post Ever?

I've been working too many jobs for the last 2 weeks. This week I picked up my 3rd job and today was the last day with my full time job. So now my work schedule will be from 12pm to 9pm (two part time jobs) every day during the week. Still exhausting, but not as bad as going from 8am to 9pm every night. I don't know how I survived, but I did! I can't hardly keep my eyes open now, but there will be more blogging in the future, so come back soon!

Also, tomorrow is free boot camp at the gym, but I'm DEFINITELY NOT GOING. Oh well. Someday I'll get back to the gym...

I don't know about shortest post ever, but definitely the most "working" post ever. Haha? No, not really.

Random.

Things have yet to slow down since Monday (did I mention that I was at work for nearly 12 hours?!??!) but I am so glad that it's Friday, aren't you?

I have some exciting news to share with all of you, but since I haven't told all of my parental units yet, I can't say what it is! Family gets first dibs! But it does involve Andrew and something shiny......

JUST KIDDING.

The semester starts on Monday, and I don't see things slowing down at work anytime in the near future, but perhaps I will catch a break in the coming weeks! In the meantime, I came across a website this week that is always good for a laugh! You can go to here for the website, it's called Dog Shaming and I love it!

My favorite dog-shaming so far today!

Happy Friday :)

The Good & Bad of It

The good news is that I got another job! The bad news is that it is the most boring job I've ever had. My job as a temp office assistant ends on the 31st, and I've been scrambling to find a new job since I'm going to be staying in CS for a little longer than I planned.

I had an interview last Wednesday for a full time job, but I haven't heard anything back from them yet. I also have an interview tomorrow for a part time job on campus. I hope I get it! But moving on, my new job is working at an assisted living community as a concierge, which is just a fancy way of saying receptionist. I'll be working evenings, so my schedule will really be changing up in the coming weeks. Of course, nobody is around and nobody calls or visits in the evenings. So it's just me and the aides on duty. But who knows, maybe this is exactly what I need! On top of that, if I get the job I'm interviewing for tomorrow, I would have time to do some OT shadowing and retake some classes! I have no idea what God has planned for me these next few months, but I know whatever it is will be perfect for me.

Insta-Weekend!

So while I'm waiting on my laundry to finish, I figured I should do a quick update on life lately! Things are getting extra busy at work since the fall semester starts on Monday. Where did August GO??? But I am thankful that the weather might be getting just a bit cooler.

This weekend I got to go home to see my family (and get all my annual appointments in...) and I had a fantastic 3 day weekend! I feel like I used Instagram for everything this weekend, but I really didn't! So I took Friday off, and Thursday night before leaving I got to have dinner with not only Andrew, but his mom and brother, Austin! Unfortunately, I got too busy talking and lost track of time. I finally made it home around 11:30pm. Oops. In the wee hours of Friday morning, the neighbors across the street had a tragedy happen. Their house caught fire around 5am, and it has been destroyed. They lost just about everything, but God was definitely watching over them---they are all fine, and their 3 puppies are okay too!

Friday was my doctor day, and there was a nice long nap in there too! Saturday was pretty boring, though I did chop off 5 inches of hair! It's a little too short for my preference, but it will always grow back! Saturday night my dad, his friend Donna, and I went out for dinner to Johnny Cace's. Delicious! On Sunday, Megan and I went to church with Dad, then had a fantastic lunch with my mom and her boyfriend. There was another nap on Sunday before getting on the road to come back to C-Stat.

There were 5 firetrucks on the street that morning, and you can see how awful the house looks the day after (Saturday)

Pre-dinner photo! Have I mentioned how badly I want a new iPhone just so I can take pictures like this?!?!

Happy weenie family reunited! Daisy, Ruthie, Sammy, and Gracie!

Church with Dad on Sunday! We kinda match!

All in all it was a fantastic weekend and I am so happy that I got to make a trip home to see my family!

It's OK Thursday

Its Ok Thursdays

I am so happy that today is my ''Friday" for the week! I'm taking off work tomorrow and heading home for the weekend to visit the fam before school craziness sets in. And I'm super sorry for not having posted in FOREVER! Work has been nuts with the start of the semester getting closer, and for the last 2 days I have been the only one in the office!

Moving on..

It's OK....

....to hit the snooze button for nearly half an hour

...to eat ice cream for lunch (yay leftovers!)

...to leave clean, unfolded laundry out for several days

...that I screamed and jumped up and down like a crazy woman when I got a call saying that I got an interview

....that I already took another job working evenings, hello crazy schedule!

....to be way too excited to drive home

....to not be excited to drive home with 2 dogs in the car (I think they travel well!)

....to spend too much money online at Long Tall Sally. but thank goodness for the sale!

....to be ecstatic about above mentioned clothes

So it's all OK.

Prayers.

Yesterday my sister's friend from high school lost her husband after battling cancer for 2 years. Steven was a Navy veteran and has two beautiful daughters, Miya and Baylei. Baylei is only 5 months old, and I cannot even begin to imagine what Kelsey is going through. Your prayers are truly appreciated during this difficult time for her!

Blog Star!

Mrs. Monologues

Hi friends! I'm linking up with Mrs. Monologues today for the first time EVER! I meant to write this post earlier this morning and work got crazy hectic and I forgot all about it. Oops. So here goes nothing...

A little about me: My name is Natalie, born & raised in Longview, Texas. I now live in College Station, and I just graduated from A&M with a B.S. in Health. I was planning to go to Occupational Therapy school, but that didn't work out. So I'm flying by the seat of my pants (more like praying hard 24/7) until a door opens. I met my boyfriend in college, and we have been together for 3 and a half years!

Yep, that's Andrew & me at Ring Dance 2012 (kind of like a college prom but not really)
Here's a few random things about me (bet you didn't know!)

1. It bugs me when people come up to me and say "OMGEEE YOU ARE SO TALL!!" What am I supposed to say to that??..duh...yeah...just awkwardly smile...make a comment about how short they are... I'm 6'4", I've been this height since I was 13, I love it most of the time and that won't be changing anytime soon.

2. I love 90s trashy TV....Cheaters, Jerry Springer, all of it!

3. I've applied for nearly 20 jobs in the last week...all sorts of areas. Now to play the waiting game some more...

4. I completely redesigned my entire blog layout just a few months ago, and I am already tired of it. So tired that I've already picked out a new background and color(s) and everything. But I haven't found the time to update it all yet. Plans for the weekend I think!

5. Thursday marks the one year anniversary of having my gallbladder removed. Yay? Overall it has helped me, but I still wish I had it sometimes. Like when I want chicken fried steak or a yummy salad or my favorite, the Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich from Whataburger. Never again.

6. I finally got back to the gym yesterday after taking 2 weeks off so that I could move and when I weighed myself after class, I realized that I've lost ONE pound! Better than gaining one!

7. I love LOVE LOOOOOOVE to read. Lately with a full time temp job on my hands, I haven't had any time to read at all. I've been stuck on the same book since the end of May. That is SAD.

8. I really ramble when I write, but then I go back and change stuff. I hope it doesn't show through but it probably does. Oh well.

You can also read a little more about me here! Feel free to leave me a comment so I know you stopped by! And go link up with Mrs. Monologues!

Sunday Social

Happy Sunday friends! I wrote this post Friday afternoon and scheduled it to post hours ago...guess that didn't happen. Oops! This is my first link-up for Sunday Social with Neely and Ashley. Hope you enjoy!

Sunday Social

1. What is your favorite Fall activity?
I absolutely love to pick pumpkins for carving & decoration! But I definitely don't eat the pumpkin seeds. And I adore watching the leaves change into beautiful colors.

2. Do you follow a football team? If so which one and why?
I follow TWO football teams. The Aggies, because I am an Aggie and I will always bleed maroon and be a member of the 12th Man. And The Dallas Cowboys cause I'm a Texas gal :)

3. What is something fun about Fall in your area?
There is the Texas Reds Steak & Grape Festival every October in Bryan, and the food and wine never disappoint! And of course with Fall comes Halloween, and all the slutty costumes....yay.

4. Fav Fall outfit staples?
Skinny jeans, my NEW boots from Alloy, and drapey jersey-knit cardigan. But Texas doesn't exactly have "fall" weather, it's more like steaming hot to chilly--there's no in between for fall. I am so excited to wear my new cardi because I bought it for $24 (originally $69) and it fits perfectly and is SUPER LONG. BEST THING EVER FOR A TALL GIRL!

5. Thing you are looking forward to most about this coming Fall season?
Aggie Football, even though we are now in the SEC and we will get our asses handed to us nearly every game. And this is my first time to NOT be in school, and it's a really weird feeling. Not to mention the wonders of Starbucks and the delicious drinks!

6. Favorite Fall holiday? Traditions?
Definitely Thanksgiving. My mom's side of the family always gets together in Houston and we always have a blast! Recently, Andrew & I have traveled to Houston to spend time with our families for lunch, then ride with Andrew's fam to visit his family in Austin for dinner. The other tradition I hold close to my heart is the Texas A&M vs Texas football game. Last November, a 117-year tradition of playing on Thanksgiving Day ended. ESPN stated it is "one of the best rivalries in college football history". I know it's only football, and I'm sure there are many people out there who don't care (especially Longhorns), but it was and always will be a piece of Texas History.

It's OK Thursday

Its Ok Thursdays

How is it already AUGUST?! Now it's really going to get hot...it's already 80 degrees and 85% humidity. Gross Texas weather.

It's OK.....

...that I'm the first one to work--again--because I like the peace and quiet.

...that I miss the weenie dogs like crazy. Something about coming home to two excited puppies who love you unconditionally just makes my day!

...that I want to punch the guy with the F-250 and trailer that cut me off this morning. Idiot drivers make me nuts.

...that my cousin is mad at me for liking Chick-Fil-A on Facebook...learn to grow up and don't bash my choices & beliefs.

...that even though I've moved into my new place, I still have so many boxes to unpack.

...that I haven't been to the gym in nearly two weeks because of the above mentioned moving.

...to not do anything at work because 2 of my bosses are out of the office this week.

...to be super excited for the weekend even though I won't be doing much.

....to hate going shopping nearly half the time because you can't find anything long enough.

Happy Thursday! Now go link up with Neely and Amber!

Olympic-Worthy

Last night I actually remembered to watch the Olympics, thanks to Andrew and Alan. I haven't quite figured out all the tv channels at my new place, and I spend too much time at Andrew's (not really). I'm sure everyone has heard the news, and it is so exciting to see so many gold medals come to Team USA!

Team USA
These ladies are so amazing!

United States' Michael Phelps shows off his record-setting gold medal Tuesday.
Marry me Michael Phelps!! Just kidding!
