Today's post is short and sweet.

Remember that killer amazing unbelievable Occupational Therapy program I applied for and interviewed with a few weeks ago?

I almost can't believe it. They emailed me yesterday morning with the great news :) I posted it all over my Facebook & Twitter & IG.

Then last night at work I cried. Sad tears.

Because I'll be leaving Andrew behind.

Part of me doesn't want to go for this very reason.

So what do I do?

Memorial Day Weekend

Half of my weekend was horrible, and the other half was awesome!

If you didn't hear me complain on Twitter, I had to work all day Saturday. And there was drama with my coworkers. Definitely not fun being stuck at work together for nearly 10 hours. It was awkward.

Andrew & I went to Houston for the rest of the weekend after work. I did nothing besides some shopping [I found some real cute swimsuit bottoms! You can see it below] and I finally got to see Iron Man 3. And to celebrate Memorial Day, I sat on the couch all day. Andrew and I almost went down to Galveston to get some sun, but that didn't happen because we both knew we wouldn't want to deal with the traffic coming back.

Obviously I should have done something to celebrate, but I just wasn't up for anything. I feel like I've fallen into a giant black pit and I'm sad a lot recently. It really hit me hard this weekend. Some of the decisions I've recently made are coming back to bite me in the ass. And it sucks, and I don't know what to do.

This week also marks the 4th week since my OT school interview. The program said they would contact me within 3 to 4 weeks....and here we are. I haven't heard anything yet, but right now my emotions are all over the place. And, to make things worse, I burned the shit out of my hand this morning with my straightener plus I was late for work.

This shit hurts like you wouldn't believe
Super cute swimsuit!
Top: Victoria's Secret
Bottoms: JC Penny

This is gonna be a rough week.

Teach Me How To Diffie

Y'all, it's finally FRIDAY! This week has dragged on for far too long. And to make things better, it's payday.
And #backthatazzup time!
I've been obsessing over Jason Aldean's song 1994 since I heard it 2 weeks ago when I was in OKC for a bachelorette party...I can't get enough!

And in case you really want to know how to line dance to this song--yes there's a line dance--watch the video below! I love how he shakes his butt hah! And if you'd rather skip the lessons fast forward to the end where he finally does the whole thing to the music. Enjoy :)

The only problem with this weekend is that I don't get a 3 day weekend like everyone else; I have to work all day tomorrow. Yuck. But then Andrew & I are going to Houston to celebrate Memorial Day! Be back Monday y'all!

Don't forget to check out my new sponsor page!
yeah yeah, it's just a swap and doesn't cost you a thing, but sponsor is just easier to say....

One Minor Change

It's hump day y'all! I'm so ready for the weekend to be here, even if I don't have 3 days off like most normal working people. I wanted to point out a tiny detail that I changed just this morning on my blog.
Can you tell what it is??

That's right! I'm now taking sponsors! Well...technically only swaps since this little space of mine doesn't see too much traffic. And it only took me practically FOREVER to get it posted & live on my blog.

It's real easy, thanks to Passionfruit Ads :) and it's completely free with the promo code! All I ask is that you show my button on your site too.

Go check it out!

Weekend Shenannies

Happy Tuesday y'all!

Before I get in to my weekend recap, I just wanted to take a minute to think about Oklahoma. I know lots of people have been posting about it--and how to help. Remember how I went to Oklahoma last weekend for a bridal shower & bachelorette party? I was 30 minutes away from Moore. My friends are okay, but they were terrified for several hours waiting out the storms.

So my weekend was a whirlwind of fun! As soon as I got off work Thursday afternoon, I rushed home, packed my shit clothes and goodies up, and Megan & I hit the road. It took us 6 hours to get to Baton Rouge, I think we finally arrived around 11:30pm.

Friday morning was my cousin's graduation ceremony for her particular college--College of Art & Design--and it was a short, sweet ceremony. She received top honors & awards, and we won the award for most obnoxious family. Just kidding about that last part.

For once our graduation group didn't take up an entire row or more!
After the ceremony, there were tons of pictures to be taken.

Me, Madeline, and Megan! Yay cousins!
We got to tour the interior design building, and we even got to see Mike the Tiger! LSU's mascot for those of  you who are clueless....they keep a live tiger near the stadium. After touring around we had a late lunch at The Little Village--a quaint Italian place to eat that was perfect for our group!

The cousins & friends went out that night--I felt so OLD--and slept half of Saturday before driving to Lake Charles to spend the rest of the weekend with family & get in some crabbing and fishing! Unfortunately the windy weather was too harsh to do anything, so we just had a ball indoors before heading back home Sunday afternoon. And FYI, Lake Charles is only 4 hours from College Station, so the drive went by twice as fast as it did Thursday night.

Thankfully I had yesterday off work so I could recuperate from all that driving. In the last 2 weekends alone, I have driven 1,600+ miles. And that number doesn't even include driving in/around town during the week. And I have more pictures on my phone but I can't snag them right now....darn work.

How was your weekend??

P.S. did you hear that I WON Ricci's May Sponsor Giveaway??? Somebody pinch me I must be dreaming!

Baby I Don't Care

Time for another round of NSV's cause it's THURSDAY!

I have 3 victories to share with y'all this week! Yay!

I haven't been to the gym in roughly 2 weeks. I've just been super busy and I've been going out of town every weekend for the last several weekends. My body is just trying to keep up with everything!
And I don't feel guilty at all!
And that little voice inside my head saying "hey fatass, get motivated and go work out!" isn't around, so I don't feel bad for not going to the gym.

I haven't been logging my shit on MFP. [add me! Username: tall_natalie]
Obviously I've been all over the place (Nebraska, Houston, and Oklahoma, and Baton Rouge then Galveston coming up), and sporadically logging isn't good enough. And I'm okay with that!

I didn't pig out on the cookie cake that my sister bought for me on Monday to celebrate my birthday. As of last night, the cake was all gone. I had 2 pieces--one Monday night and another last night. Talk about self control!

What are some of your victories for the week??

P.S. Megan and I are leaving for Baton Rouge this afternoon as soon as I get off work. Yay college graduations and familia! But that means there won't be an update tomorrow. Womp womp.

My Amazeballs Birthday

This linkup came at the perfect time since my birthday was yesterday!

So first I'll share my most memorable birthday cause I know all of you want to hear my story!

My 16th birthday. Yes. Legal to drive. I had already done Driver's Ed and had my permit for months, so I was ready to go to the DMV and get my license that very day. And then the week before my birthday my mom announced we were going to travel to Louisiana for my cousin's high school graduation. Which meant that I wasn't gonna go to the DMV and I wasn't going to celebrate with my friends like I had wanted. And to make things worse, I had several people tease me that I was going to have a Sour Sixteen instead of a Sweet Sixteen because my birthday happened to fall on Friday the 13th that year.
But I was excited to see my family!

I sulked around all weekend long because I felt like everyone's attention was on the graduate instead of on me. I mean, you only turn 16 once! Then again, graduating from high school is big too. And, all the people who came over for the graduation party had no clue that I was supposed to be celebrating my birthday. It was awful.

And then Saturday afternoon, after all the partygoers had left, we FINALLY celebrated my birthday. My aunt had bought an exquisite cake--it really was gorgeous--and it may have been the best cake I've ever had. And it totally made up for the fact that everyone had neglected me and that I couldn't get my license on the day I turned 16. And I'm happy that I could share my birthday with my family & celebrate a graduation!

*Side vent: spring graduations almost always fall on my birthday. Last year when I graduated, my birthday was the next day & it also happened to be Mother's Day too.

So last night I went out for my 24th birthday!

Yes, I'm a princess with a pink feather boa.
Several people were there to celebrate with me, Mary & Richard, Megan, Andrew, and a few friends! We went to Cheddar's for dinner and I had a lot to drink. And the drinks were, and I quote, "strong as fuck!"

My sister even bought me a cookie cake!

This is the 3rd year in a row that I've had cookie cake for my birthday. That's some good shit.

I fail at blowing out candles. There were only 10 candles on the cake and I blew out maybe half of them. And I forgot to make a wish. We'll just say that I didn't want to spit on the cake.

Now, I know you're dying to know what all I got!

My sister gave me the Naked palette! So excited!
Andrew bought Season 2 of Dexter for me!
My mommy mailed me some new Sperry's! The Sperry's I have now (I'm wearing them today) are my birthday gift from 3 years ago. They've lasted a looong time but it's time for new!

I got a few other awesome gifts, and some of the sweetest cards. Though sometimes it doesn't actually feel like my birthday was yesterday and that I'm 24 instead of 23 and I had to renew my license this year. And I'm newly engaged. Kinda weird but cool.

And  huge thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday! It really was great :)

Weekend Happenings + My Birthday

Hey y'all! Hope everyone had a great weekend! I know I did, but my bank account says differently, hah!

This was the second weekend in a row that I was out of town, and my dirty laundry is getting out of control. I need a maid or something asap.

So what did I do this weekend? I went all the way to Oklahoma for Corie's bridal shower & bachelorette party! It was the longest drive EVER--7 hours one way.

1. Oklahoma sunset on Friday night. Not as beautiful as Texas but still pretty.
2. The beautiful bride to-be and her precious nephew
3. Cruising in the limo with Corie & her sister Katie (the maid of honor)
4. Some random club in was super smoky
5. Selfie outside a club!
6. MOH & another bridesmaid, Jasmin
7. Late night at IHOP
8. The Whoop Barn -- it's between College Station & Waco and I had never seen it (but yes I knew it was there) so I just had to stop and take a pic!
9. My new swim top from Victoria's Secret came in! I looooove it!

I totally missed getting to spend Sunday with my mom for Mother's Day because I was in Oklahoma, and driving home would have put me 4 hours out of my way. I just couldn't swing it and I was a little heartbroken, especially since I haven't really seen my mom since Christmas.

I'm officially 24!
And it's been a year since I graduated from A&M.

I don't have any plans yet, other than to going out for dinner and drinks with friends and stuff.
Show me some birthday love y'all!

Linking up with these cool kids today...

Big News!

I can't contain my excitement anymore! After 4+ years of dating,

*insert giggles and squeals*

I am so happy right now! Like over the moon, still on cloud 9, can't believe I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend happy!!

My ring is absolutely perfect!

So I know you're all dying to know how he proposed!

Andrew & I had arranged for him to pick me up from the airport after my interview in Nebraska [you can read about how it went here] since it was easier for me to get a ride from his family rather than driving myself to & from the airport. I knew I wanted him to be the first person I saw coming back, and of course he didn't mind.

As soon as I was off the plane, I called him. He told me he was waiting outside the security checkpoint and that I'd see him soon. I walked through to terminal and past security where Andrew was standing. He was dressed up and had a dozen red roses in his hand. I assumed they were to congratulate me on my interview. I gave him a big hug & a kiss and he handed me the flowers. Then he said, "I have something else for you". He got down on one knee, pulled a box from his back pocket and said "Will you marry me?" and as soon as he started to kneel I couldn't hold my tears back. At the exact same time, Megan (my sister) and Austin (Andrew's brother) came out from behind a tall banner and started snapping photos. I was overwhelmed and  so happy and all I could say was "YES!". Andrew slipped the ring on my finger--it fits perfectly!--and smiled. After more hugging and kissing, we took a few photos. Megan even got a video, but the quality isn't very good and you really can only hear me crying and Megan saying "yay" after I said yes. And I couldn't believe that he had managed to pull this off without anyone spilling the beans! It definitely wasn't something I was expecting, and it came as a total surprise to me.

After a short drive back to his house, there were a few more pictures and we [Andrew's family plus me and Megan] went out for a late lunch to celebrate. Andrew and I spent the rest of Saturday just enjoying our time together--and I made a ton of phone calls and texts. And everyone keeps asking me when the big day is, but we don't have an answer yet! It depends on whether or not I get into grad school, so we'll just have to wait a little longer.

I still can't believe I'm engaged to the love of my life....I am so happy!

Interview Recap

Is it really Monday again? I'm exhausted.

My trip to Omaha was fantastic, minus the freezing cold weather that I couldn't stand...

I arrived Thursday afternoon, had lunch, checked into the hotel, and headed to campus to take a look around. Even though it was cold, the campus was beautiful, and it was pretty easy to find my way around. Friday was relaxing and exciting and I wasn't one bit nervous! The interview itself lasted about 20 minutes, the rest of the time was spent getting to know current students, faculty, the program, & the university. It was truly amazing.

As you can imagine, I was exhausted after that so I went home and slept for several hours before leaving the hotel long enough to poke around town and grab some dinner. Then I flew home Saturday.
Pretty simple.
But I really REALLY hope I get in! They said decisions would be sent out in 3-4 weeks. Longest weeks of my life!

I also have some other news, but I'm not quite ready to tell the blogosphere just yet. Happy Monday!

Oh, and a big hello & thank you to all my new followers!
